Ascot Horse Racing Tips – 17 June 2020

Horse Racing

With what is an action-packed midweek schedule from across the British horse racing scene, there is no doubt that Ascot will take centre stage as we prepare for what is a standout afternoon on Wednesday.

On that note, for those of you looking to stick a flutter on flat racing’s biggest meeting of the summer, we have found you a handful of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for on Wednesday.

Betting Tip: JAPAN win – 20/21 @ Paddy Power

15:00 PM – Ascot – Race 4

For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at the Prince Of Wales’s Stakes and one four-year-old who will have all eyes on him at Ascot.

Rightfully opening Wednesday’s meeting as a top pick with the bookmakers, the talented JAPAN has plenty of buzz around him on a return to action in midweek. Including claiming victory at York in a Class 1 meeting a smidge under 10 months ago, he has won three of his last four starts and also caught the eye out in France prior to the break. Running well from a poor position on testing ground in the Prix De l’Arc de Triomphe when last seen, there is no doubt that the mood in Aidan O’Brien’s stable should be at a high.

Previously picking up the victory at Ascot in the Class 2 King Edward VII Stakes almost exactly a year ago, it is hard to see anything other than another rampant display for a returning JAPAN.

Betting Tip: HEREBY win – 8/1 @ Coral

*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

16:40 PM – Ascot – Race 7

For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to the final meeting at Ascot on Wednesday and the Copper Horse Handicap Class 2 contest.

Last seen back on October 4th at this very track when claiming victory over by SAPA INCA in the Class 1 Londonmetric Noel Murless Stakes, HEREBY had gained a long list of admirers prior to the enforced break. With Tom Marquand set to take the reigns for the first time on the four-year-old in midweek, she had won each of her previous four starts prior to the break, including back-to-back victories at Chester. More impressive, one of those empathic wins came over GABRIAL THE ONE in a Class 3 meeting after storming to victory by four lengths.

While both FUJAIRA PRINCE (9/2 with Betfair) and COLLIDE (5/1 with Bet365) might open Wednesday’s meeting as the standout picks with the bookmakers, don’t be surprised to see HEREBY mark her return with victory in midweek.
