Ascot Horse Racing Tips – 19 June 2020

Horse Racing

With what has been an outstanding week of action from Ascot rolling onto Friday afternoon, we have yet another string of noteworthy meetings from flat racing’s biggest event of the summer.

On that note, for those of you out there looking to stick a flutter on a standout day at Ascot, we have found you a couple of interesting tips that are worth keeping an eye out for on Friday.

Betting Tip: ART POWER win – 3/1 @ Paddy Power

*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

13:15 PM – Ascot – Race 1

For our first Tip of the Day, we take a look at Ascot’s opening contest and the Palace Of Holyroodhouse Handicap.

Making an empathic return from the enforced break and really backing up the hype around him, many around Berkshire are excited to see ART POWER in action again this week. Last seen back on June 1st when romping to victory at Newcastle in the Betway Novice Stakes and beating ELECTRIC MISTRESS by five and a half lengths, the talented colt has picked up back-to-back victories in his last two starts either side of the interruption. With jockey Silvestre De Sousa once again taking the saddle after their victory together at Newcastle, he is expected to line up here rather than run in the Commonwealth later the same afternoon.

With many tipping ART POWER as a future Group horse, he should be looking to make another statement in a Class 2 meeting on Friday.

Betting Tip: AL DABARAN win – 4/1 @ Bet365

*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

16:10 PM – Ascot – Race 6

For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to the Queen’s Vase and what is a competitive field on paper.

While BORN WITH PRIDE (7/2 with William Hill) might open as a marginal top pick with the bookmakers, AL DABARAN has plenty of admirers heading into a return on Friday. Last seen back on September 30th at Chantilly when finishing a nose behind HOPEFUL in another Group 3 meeting, trainer Charlie Appleby should be boosted by his three-year-olds previous trip to Ascot. When making the trip to Berkshire a smidge under 11 months ago, AL DABARAN claimed victory in the Winkfield Stakes Class 1 contest.

Tipped as a potential star in the making, we’re backing another successful afternoon for the Appleby stable on Friday.
