With the Australian horse racing scene once again taking centre stage from behind closed doors this week, Wednesday morning promises to offer another string of eye-catching meetings from the likes of Sale, Strathalbyn, and Canterbury Park.
On that note, for those of you who are looking to put on a midweek flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping note of for Wednesday morning.
06:20 AM – Sale – Race 6
For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at BM64 (2200m) meeting at Sale and one three-year-old who should be looking to build off an eye-catching maiden victory at Donald earlier in the month.
Claiming the win in the Maiden Plate after beating ART MAJOR by half a length, the talented filly also caught the eye with a breakout performance at Cranbourne four weeks ago. Running ISOLA COMACINA a close second at Cranbourne over 1600m, the training duo of Ciaron Maher & David Eustace have high expectations for their three-year-old after only failing to secure a top-three finish once in her debut year.
While BIG BREW (19/10 with William Hill) might open Wednesday’s meeting as the favourite with the bookmakers, we’re backing KANSINO to land back-to-back victories at Sale in midweek.
07:10 AM – Strathalbyn – Race 7
For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to Strathalbyn and the BM58 (1600m) meeting on Wednesday morning.
Really gaining plenty of plaudits after clinching victory over HIGH MIST by almost half a length in her last start, the six-year-old also caught the eye after landing a second-place finish at Gawler on another soft track last month. It should also be noted that BIG CALL has gained a firm reputation as a track specialist at Strathalbyn. Including victory in her last start in South Australia, she has won two of her previous five meetings and has only failed to secure at least a place finish on just a single occasion.
While EXALTED DEE (11/4 with Ladbrokes) might find himself as another favourite with the bookmakers at Strathalbyn, BIG CALL should be confident of extending on a stunning record at Wednesday’s course.
