Australian Horse Racing Tips – 7 May 2020

Horse Racing

With what is set to be another action-packed midweek schedule of horse racing from all across Australia, Thursday morning promises to offer a string of interesting meetings from the likes of Kembla Grange, Werribee, Leeton, and Pinjarra Park.

On that note, for those of you who are looking to put on a midweek flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of noteworthy tips that are worth keeping an eye out for on Thursday morning.

Betting Tip: ALCHERMES win – 4/1 @ William Hill

*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

06:20 AM – Kembla Grange – Race 6

For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at the Class 2 HCP (1500m) meeting at Kembla Grange.

Putting in a stellar display at Thursday’s course in a Class 1 meeting over 1400m last month, there is no doubt that trainer Ron Quinton has a really talented filly on his hands. Beating READTHON by half a length, ALCHERMES also gained a long list of admirers for another eye-catching display at Gosford back in March.

Once again claiming the win in the Maiden Handicap over 1200m, the three-year-old has now scored at least a place finish in each of his three starts this year. Expected to once again enjoy a softer track at Kembla Grange on Thursday morning, we’re backing another victory for ALCHERMES in midweek.

Elsewhere, also enjoying a purple patch and landing back-to-back places finishes, BULLET FLY can be found at 4/5 to land another top-three finish in New South Wales.

Betting Tip: RODDANDTODD top-three finish – 11/8 @ Bet365

*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

07:00 AM – Werribee – Race 8

For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to the TAB BM72 meeting at Werribee.

While CAN’T FORGET YOU (5/2 with Paddy Power) might open Thursday’s meeting as a clear favourite with the bookmakers, five-year-old RODDANDTODD will be quietly confident of pulling off an upset in Victoria this week. Putting in a real noteworthy display at Bendigo in his last start, trainer Daniel Bowman saw his gelding finish within touching distance of eventual winner WELL SPRUNG over 1000m.

In fact, also claiming the victory at Bendigo in his last race of the 2018/2019 calendar in the BM70 meeting, RODDANDTODD has claimed at least a place finish in four of his last five starts. Holding a place percentage of over 47%, there is no doubt that the Bowman stable should be confident of extending on that tally on Thursday morning.
