Opening up October’s British horse racing schedule on Thursday afternoon, we are offered a stacked day of meetings from the likes of Warwick, Chelmsford and Salisbury.

On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a midweek flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for throughout Thursday.

Betting Tip: CALUM GILHOOLEY win – 9/2 @ Coral
*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

13:45 PM – Warwick – Race 4

For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at Warwick and the Class 3 Watch Irish Racing On RacingTV Handicap Hurdle.

Arguably the standout meeting in Warwickshire on Thursday afternoon, CALUM GILHOOLEY rightfully opens the midweek meetings as a standout pick with the bookmakers and has really impressed many with a recent purple patch. Returning from an extended 525-day break and trainer Graeme McPherson still holding his six-year-old in high regard, he was last seen at Newton Abbot on September 8th when laying down another marker.

Claiming victory in the Class 3 PKF Francis Clark “National Hunt” Novices’ Hurdle and forming a very budding partnership with jockey Kielan Woods, CALUM GILHOOLEY has now claimed back-to-back wins and the mood in McPherson’s stable appears to be at a real high.

Betting Tip: BORN A KING win – 2/1 @ Paddy Power
*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

18:00 PM – Chelmsford – Race 4

For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to the evening session at Chelmsford and the Class 5 Bet tote Handicap.

While BORN A KING might have struggled to lay down much of a marker after returning from a two-month break back in August at Newmarket, the three-year-old is seen as a real talent and famed trainer William Haggas believes he has a budding group racer on his hands. Last seen out at Lingfield on September 22nd when claiming victory in the Read Andrew Balding On Betway Insider Handicap, he managed to see off ZEIMAAM and it is no surprise that he is seen as a standout pick on Thursday.

For those of you looking for an outside pick in midweek, UNION SPIRIT (12/1 with William Hill) has impressed since returning from the enforced break and could be worth an each-way shout.
