With another packed afternoon of horse racing action on the cards throughout Thursday, we are offered a host of noteworthy meetings from the likes of Sedgefield, Chelmsford and Taunton.

On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a midweek flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out.

14:40 PM – Taunton – Race 4

Betting Tip: PONTRESINA win – 3/1 @ Paddy Power
*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at Taunton and the Class 3 Arthur & Peggy White Memorial Handicap Chase on Thursday afternoon.

Making what has been a very impressive return from an extended 286-day break at Fontwell on September 6th, PONTRESINA is rightfully seen as a standout pick in midweek and has formed an eye-catching partnership with jockey Jonathan Burke who will once again take the saddle in Somerset. Along with securing a silver medal finish when making a return to action, the seven-year-old really laid down a marker last time out at Kempton on October 18th.

Claiming victory in the Class 4 Racing TV Handicap Chase after seeing off MORTENS LEAM, it is well worth keeping an eye out for the talented PONTRESINA at Taunton.

19:00 PM – Chelmsford – Race 6

Betting Tip: AIM FOR THE STARS – 5/2 @ Betfair
*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to Chelmsford and the Class 4 Racing Welfare Supporting Racing’s Workforce Handicap.

Returning from a brief break after making a maiden start at Sandown back in August, AIM FOR THE STARS has impressed many across Britain over the past six weeks. Forming what is certainly a blossoming relationship with jockey P J McDonald who will once again take the saddle of the third time on the bounce in Essex, the three-year-old was last seen at Wolverhampton on October 17th. Putting on a career-best performance last month, he secured victory in the Sky Sports Racing HD Virgin 535 Novice Stakes and has received a string of praise from trainer James Tate.

While late money is expected to come in for POWER OF STATES (11/4 with 888sport), we’re backing AIM FOR THE STARS to claim back-to-back wins on Thursday.
