With the midweek British horse racing schedule rolling onto Wednesday afternoon, we are offered a string of noteworthy meetings from the likes of Stratford, York and Bath.
On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a midweek flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for throughout Wednesday.
14:45 PM – York – Race 3
For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at what is a stacked afternoon at York and the Group 2 Sky Bet Great Voltigeur Stakes.
While MOGUL (15/8 with Paddy Power) might open Wednesday’s meeting as a standout pick with the bookmakers, there is no doubt that many across Britain are excited to see DARAIN back in action in midweek. Last seen at Newmarket on July 24th when claiming victory in the Newmarket Festival Charitable Novice Stakes, the three-year-old is really seen as a budding superstar and is held in high regard by trainer John Gosden. Also making his debut run at Newbury last month by claiming the win in the Class 5 Oakley Coachbuilders Super Sport Novice Stakes, he will be looking to make it three in three at York.
Forming an eye-catching partnership with jockey Oisin Murphy and the 24-year-old set to take the saddle for the third time in a row on Wednesday, we’re backing DARAIN to extend on his stunning run this week.
15:05 – Stratford – Race 4
For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to Stratford and the Sheila Vaughan Memorial Handicap Chase.
The only Class 3 contest to take place in Warwickshire on Wednesday afternoon, it is well worth keeping an eye out for ATLANTIC STORM after another eye-catching display at this very track on July 21st. Finishing only behind COURT ROYALE in the Every Race Live On Racing TV Handicap Chase last time out and clinching a second-place finish, the eight-year-old has really made a string of improvements since returning from racing’s enforced break. Enjoying his brightest run in 2020, ATLANTIC STORM will also hold some pleasant memories of his previous trips to Stratford.
Including victory in the Keogh & Hows Handicap Chase last year, he has won two of his last four trips to Warwickshire and should be too strong for the chasing pack in midweek.
