With the midweek horse racing action rolling onto Thursday after what has been another exciting schedule from across Britain, we are offered a string of noteworthy meetings from the likes of Bath, Wolverhampton and Catterick.
On that note, for those of you looking to chuck a midweek flutter on, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for on Thursday afternoon.
14:10 PM – Bath – Race 1
For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at the first contest at Bath on Thursday and the Tadwick Handicap.
Really laying down a marker and gaining plenty of plaudits after a strong showing at Leicester on June 25th, AWSAAF will be hoping to carry on from where he left off last week. Claiming his first victory since returning from racing’s enforced break, the five-year-old recovered from a slow start and put on a stunning run down the stretch that saw him beat QAARAAT by almost two lengths in the Class 6 leicester-racecourse.com Handicap.
Previously claiming the win in a Class 5 contest when he made the trip to Bath back in August of last year, there is no doubt that AWSAAF is seen to be one of the standout picks with the bookmakers in midweek.
14:20 PM – Catterick – Race 5
For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to Catterick and the Class 6 Skeeby Handicap.
Making the swap back to trainer Declan Carroll after a 10-month stint with Roger Fell, HOUSE DEPOSIT really caught the eye at Haydock on June 24th when claiming victory over LACAN in the Join Racing TV Now Handicap (Div II). Landing his first win since a Class 6 victory at Redcar back in October 2018, the four-year-old will be glad to know that jockey David Nolan will take the saddle in midweek for their third consecutive start together.
While late money is also expected to come in for Ollie Pears’s CHRISTMAS NIGHT (6/1 with Bet365) we’re backing HOUSE DEPOSIT to make it two in two at Catterick on Thursday afternoon.
