British Horse Racing Tips – 21 June 2020

Horse Racing

With what was a stunning week at Ascot drawing to a close, the action will role onto Sunday afternoon when the likes of Wolverhampton, Kempton and Redcar offer us a string of noteworthy meetings.

On that note, for those of you looking to close the weekend with a flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for on Sunday afternoon.

Betting Tip: GOLD ARCH win – 9/2 @ William Hill

*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

15:35 PM – Wolverhampton – Race 8

For our first Tip of the Day, we take a look at Wolverhampton and the Standeford Handicap Class 5 meeting.

Last seen back on September 21st at Sunday’s track when marching to victory over Forbidden Dance, GOLD ARCH was enjoying a bright run of form prior to the enforced break. With two wins in coming in his last four starts, trainer William Knight will also be hugely excited by GOLD ARCH ‘s continued success at Wolverhampton. Including that win in the Midlands last time out, the four-year-old has now won each of his last three trips to Sunday’s track, including victory in a Class 5 meeting almost a year ago.

While RED SECRET (8/11 with Betfair) might open the contest as a clear top pick with the bookmakers, we’re backing GOLD ARCH to claim back-to-back wins on Sunday afternoon in what many would consider a real upset.

Betting Tip: CITY TOUR win – 7/1 @ Paddy Power

*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

16:55 PM – Kempton – Race 8

For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to Kempton and the Unibet Extra Place Offers Every Day Handicap meeting.

The only Class 3 contest to take place in Surrey on Sunday afternoon, CITY TOUR should be looking to build off of what was an eye-catching step up in class when last seen at Lingfield back on February 22nd. Finishing second behind PIRATE KING when making a maiden appearance in a Class 3 meeting, the four-year-old has gained plenty of admirers and is seen as a potential Group horse. There is no doubt that trainer Lydia Richards will also be boosted by her gelding’s recent performances at Kempton. Along with claiming the win over ILHABELA FACT by four lengths in the 32Red/EBF Handicap back in January, he has previously claimed back-to-back victories in Surrey.

With Cieren Fallon set to take the saddle for the first time at Kempton this weekend, it is certainly worth keeping an eye out for an improving CITY TOUR on Sunday.
