With this weekend’s British horse racing schedule opening up on Friday afternoon, we are offered a stacked schedule from the likes of Newmarket, Haydock, Uttoxeter and Newcastle.

On that note, for those of you looking to open the weekend with a flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for throughout Friday.

Betting Tip: KATARA win – 3/1 @ Paddy Power
*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

14:25 PM – Newmarket – Race 3

For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at Newmarket and what should be an exciting Group 3 Princess Royal Muhaarar Stakes.

While ALPINISTA (9/4 with Bet365) might be seen as a marginal top pick it Suffolk on Friday afternoon, it is well worth keeping an eye out for a high-flying KATARA. Really going from strength to strength after making a return from football’s enforced break back in June, she is held in extremely high regard by famed trainer Sir Michael Stoute and is potentially seen as a budding superstar. Gaining a string of admirers after what was another thumping display at this very track on August 1st, KATARA stormed to victory in the Class 1 British Stallion Studs EBF Chalice Stakes after seeing off EXSPRESIONISM by four lengths.

Now claiming back-to-back victories and with the mood in Stoute’s stable at a real high, we’re backing an upset on Friday afternoon.

Betting Tip: TEA CLIPPER win – 9/4 @ Betfair
*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

15:10 PM – Uttoxeter – Race 6

For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to Uttoxeter and the Sky Sports Racing Sky 415 Handicap Hurdle.

The only Class 3 contest to take place in Staffordshire on Friday afternoon, TEA CLIPPER is rightfully seen as a standout pick with the bookmakers after a very impressive purple patch. Returning from an extended break and claiming a second-place finish in the Betway Handicap Hurdle at Huntingdon, the five-year-old has really impressed since joining Tom Lacey’s stable last year. Previously claiming three wins on the bounce, including a very impressive display in the Fitzdares Racing Welfare Handicap Hurdle, many are excited to see TEA CLIPPER back in action of Friday afternoon.

While late money is also expected to come in for STYLE DE GRADE (4/1 with Coral) we’re backing the talented gelding to mark his return with a victory this week.
