With this weekend’s schedule of British horse racing opening up on Friday, we are offered a long list of eye-catching meetings from the likes of Newmarket, Uttoxeter, Newcastle and Wetherby.

On that note, for those of you looking to stick on a Friday flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of helpful tips that are worth keeping an eye out for.

13:00 PM – Wetherby – Race 3

Betting Tip: SHAN BLUE win – 13/8 @ William Hill
*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

For our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at Wetherby and the Class 4 Bet365 Novices’ Chase on Friday lunchtime.

While HOLD THE NOTE (6/5 with Unibet) might be seen as a top pick with the bookmakers, SHAN BLUE really gained a string of admirers after returning from an extended 217-day break earlier in the month. Bursting back onto the scene at this very track on October 14th, the six-year-old claimed victory in the Class 4 Sixt Car Hire Novices’ Chase in thumping fashion. Eventually storming to the win at Wetherby by 14 lengths, he has also continued to build a blossoming relationship with jockey Harry Skelton who will once again take the saddle on Friday.

Looking to lay down another marker in West Yorkshire this week, SHAN BLUE will be hugely confident of upsetting the odds and is well worth keeping an eye out for.

15:30 PM – Newmarket – Race 6

Betting Tip: WATER’S EDGE win – 2/1 @ Paddy Power
*Odds are correct at time of writing and are subject to change without prior notice.

For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to the penultimate meeting at Newmarket and the Class 3 Play 3-2-Win At MansionBet Handicap.

Rightfully opening Friday’s meeting as a marginal top pick with the bookmakers, WATER’S EDGE will be looking to continue on what has been a real purple patch during his October run. Once again seen making back-to-back appearances at Windsor, the four-year-old claimed victory in the Dark Horse Racing Handicap after seeing off SKY POWER by two lengths.

Glad to see jockey Nicola Currie take the saddle for the fifth time on the bounce this week, WATER’S EDGE has claimed back-to-back wins for the first time in his career and trainer George Baker holds high hopes for his gelding.
