With a stellar weekend of horse racing action from across Britain, Saturday promises us a string of eye-catching meetings from the likes of Epsom, Haydock, Yarmouth and Chelmsford.
On that note, for those of you looking to open the weekend with a flutter, we have searched far and wide to find you a couple of noteworthy tips that are worth keeping an eye out for on Saturday.
16:45 PM – Epsom – Race 5
Four our opening Tip of the Day, we take a look at what is a standout schedule at Epsom and the Group 3 Princess Elizabeth Stakes.
Really laying down another marker when returning from the enforced break at Chelsmford on June 8th, it is no surprise that there is plenty of buzz around a super talented FOORAAT. Last seen in Essex last month when stealing the show in the British Stallion Studs EBF Fillies’ Novice Stakes, the three-year-old marched to victory over CALATRAVA by seven lengths. Seen to be a real budding superstar and receiving a string of praise from trainer Roger Varian, FOORAAT also really burst onto the scene on his debut at Newcastle back in August.
Claiming back-to-back victories and boosted by the news that jockey David Egan will once again take the saddle after their stellar return together at Chelmsford, FOORAAT should be too strong for the chasing pack this weekend.
19:10 PM – Chelmsford – Race 6
For our second Tip of the Day, we turn our attention to an exciting night of racing at Chelmsford and the Class 4 Essex Life Handicap.
While the likes of PHILAMUNDO (4/1 with William Hill) might open Saturday’s meeting as a top pick with the bookmakers, SEPAHI will be looking to continue on what has been a stunning return from the enforced break. Last seen at Kempton on June 23rd when finishing second behind AVENUE OF STARS in the Unibet Thanks The Frontline Workers Handicap, the four-year-old has continued to shine since joining Shaun Keightley’s stable back in February.
Forming an eye-catching partnership with jockey David Probert who will take the saddle for the fourth time on the bounce, SEPAHI also claimed back-to-back wins when returning to action last month. With one of those wins coming in a Class 5 contest at Wolverhampton, we’re backing an upset in Essex this week.
