Cutrone said: “I am very pleased to be here because the club really wanted me. I am very happy and want to give my all for the team.

The club really wanted me and being able to play in the Premier League for Wolves is fantastic. I just can’t wait to get started.”

The defender suffered the injury during United’s 2-1 win against Tottenham in Shanghai last week and had an operation on Tuesday.

Solskjaer said: “He will miss the best part of four or five months. Hopefully, we will get him back around about Christmas.”
