Opening the new campaign with a thumping display on their travels last weekend, Leicester will be looking to land back-to-back victories when they welcome Burnley to the King Power on Sunday night.

Landing what turned out to be a 3-0 romp away at Premier League returners West Brom in the Midlands last week, the Foxes would have undoubtedly been glad to put what was a worrying end to the 2019/2020 campaign behind them.

On the flip side, given an extra week to recover, Burnley managed to book their spot in the final 16 of this year’s EFL Cup after knocking fellow top-flight outfit Sheffield United out on penalties in midweek.

However, opening their Premier League account on the road this weekend, it should be noted that that Clarets do hold what is a worrying record against Leicester on their travels.

Including a 2-1 defeat when the two sides faced off in Leicestershire back in October, the Foxes have won three of their last four contests against Burnley on home soil and a similar outcome is priced at 4/6 with 888Sport.

Vardy opens his account

While Leicester might have been left heartbroken after essentially throwing away a Champions League return thanks to a worrying post-lockdown run, they couldn’t have wished for a better season-opener last weekend.

Picking up what would have undoubtedly been a morale-boosting 3-0 romp away at a returning West Brom, Head Coach Brendan Rodgers would have been even more excited to see Jamie Vardy open his account at the Hawthorns.

Signing a new deal with the Foxes earlier in the summer, the now-former England international converted from the spot twice last weekend and will certainly have one eye on defending his Golden Boot this time around.

Elsewhere, coming off the bench and making a cameo appearance in the Midlands last week, James Maddison could be in line for his first start of the season after recovering from injury.

Burnley – The away day specialties?

Playing catch-up this weekend after being given some extra time to recover, Burnley managed to book their spot in the fourth round of this year’s EFL Cup thanks to a penalties victory over Sheffield United on Thursday.

While Sean Dyche’s side might face a stern season-opener when they travel to the King Power on Sunday night, the Clarets signed off the extended 2019/2020 campaign with a real flurry, particularly on their travels.

Last seen away from Turf Moor on Premier League duties picking up a routine 2-0 win away at a recently-relegated Norwich, Burnley remarkably picked up 10 points over their final four contests on the road.

With that run also highlighted by what was a very impressive 1-1 draw away at Liverpool earlier in the summer, the Clarets could be fancying another away day upset this weekend.

Although Dyche’s side might have previously struggled on their trips to the King Power, you might be interested to know that a Burnley draw no bet can be found priced as high as 3/1 with Paddy Power.
